A Fantastic Year For Fudge

Posted by Michael on January 23, 2013

It’s been some time since my last blog post so I thought it best to keep everyone up to date as to where the business is currently at.

I’ll start from June last year, which has to be the turning point for Fudge Fancies,  we were awarded a National Business Accelerator ‘merit’ award, judged and presented by Debora Meaden. This was a fantastic achievement given over 3,000 businesses from around the UK applied. Through our involvement with the LBA I met, Chris Petty from Corner Stone Business Solutions, who was actually elected to mentor a neighbouring business, however his support and interest in Fudge Fancies soon led to him becoming involved as an investor.

Then in September Fudge Fancies received another business boost from TV Dragons’ Den star Theo Paphitis, we tweeted Theo about our business during ‘Small Business Sunday’, aninitiative set up by Theo that runs weekly. Theo re‐tweeted Fudge Fancies message to his 260,000 followers and as a result, the business received 150 more followers.

Last year also saw increased sales for our wedding favours, and the busiest Christmas for us with massively increased sales from the previous year.

We have also being supplying fudge for  ITV on some of their TV shows.  We have also had a request to supply 20000 boxes  for a national shop on the high street, but we are not quite at that stage yet, hopefully this will be the year to  make that happen.

Next month Fudge Fancies has been nominated for another award, the Best New Business Awards held at Middlesbrough football club.  It would mean a lot to win such an award as it’s local recognition for our achievements.  We will therefore be putting on our glad rags and crossing our fingers.
